Rafiki is dead.
12th of June of 2020, one of those days when you better not say what is crossing your mind. The Uganda Wildlife Authority confirmed that our beloved Rafiki was killed by poachers. He was found dead on the 2nd of June. Since then, the Nkuringo family has been struggling to remain together. He was the only silverback and the survival of the group now depends on the young blackbacks, especially Rwamutwe. There are also three babies at serious risk if any solitary silverback in the surroundings manages to move into the family.
